2.) Ask if your veterinarian will accept a post-dated check.
3.) Find out what the absolute minimum they can do for your pet to help them but keep costs down.
4.) Contact other vets to see if a lower rate is available.
5.) Borrow from family, friends, bank or loan company.
6.) Use equity in your car or home to obtain funds.
7.) Ask your employer for a salary advance.
8.) Get an extra short-term job.
9.) Have a garage sale, sell on eBay, etc.
10.) Ask your church for help.
11.) Consolidate high interest credit accounts, freeing up cash.
12.) Ask your local humane society or shelter for assistance.
13.) Trade services with your veterinarian.
14.) Contact Veterinary Schools.
15.) Start a "Pet Emergency Fund" at your bank or savings institution.
16.) Borrow against a life insurance policy or stock portfolio.
17.) Apply for Care Credit (see under other financial resources).
18.) The FVEAP will set up and manage a dedicated fund for your companion. You arrange for people to donate to this fund and they get tax benefits.
